Good to know

What drones do you have for film and TV?

Heavy-lift Alta X and Alta 8, the Netflix-approved Inspire 3, the Inspire 2, Mavic 3 Pro Cine and Mavic 4 Pro, the Mini 5, and a range of FPV drones. They all have a place: sometimes a sub-250g drone is the only way to get the shot.

Can you fly our cinema camera?

Yes. The Alta X and Alta 8 carry full cinema builds such as the ARRI Alexa Mini, Mini LF and Sony Venice on a Ronin 2 or Movi Pro. Send us the camera and lens list.

Can you fly our 35mm or 16mm film camera?

Yes. We can fly the ARRI 235, and the Ronin 2 can handle most packages, including a triple RED Komodo array, so just ask. Some builds need prep work to set up record/run switching.

Can we hire a drone without a pilot?

Yes. The Inspire 3, Inspire 2, Mavics, Mini 5 and Avata 2 can be hired, subject to approval. Heavy-lift and larger FPV drones only go out with our crew, though you can book our pilot and operate the camera yourself. From experience, we'd suggest booking our full crew.

Are you CAA authorised and insured?

Yes. We hold a CAA Operational Authorisation (PDRA01) and £5m drone public liability insurance. Flights under an Operating Safety Case (OSC) are available as an upgrade.

What happens if a drone fails?

We always carry a backup. On larger productions we bring a comparable or identical spare drone, so the shoot can carry on.
