DJI Mavic 3 operator

DJI Mavic 3 Pro Cine operator

The Mavic 3 Pro Cine is our go-to for fast, high-quality aerials. It's out of the bag and flying in under a minute, and it records Apple ProRes 422 HQ in 10-bit D-Log, so the footage grades and cuts alongside cinema cameras.

Three cameras
Hasselblad 4/3 main camera, plus 70 mm and 166 mm tele cameras

Apple ProRes
422 HQ, 422 and LT on all three cameras, to a 1TB internal SSD

Resolution
5.1K at 50 fps, 4K at up to 120 fps for slow motion

Flight time
Up to 43 minutes per battery

It flies mostly on events, property and boats, and regularly steps into TV drama for interiors and tight spaces. It also handles drizzle and rough weather that would ground bigger drones. We push it to its limit.

It's the right tool for:

  • Fast turnaround work where you need to fly now, not in an hour.
  • Boats, coastlines and weather that keeps bigger drones on the ground.
  • Interiors and tight spaces on TV drama.
  • Events, property and documentary.

Quick to go from stills to video and back, and the perfect travel partner.

DJI Mavic 4 operator

DJI Mavic 4 Pro operator

The Mavic 4 Pro brings a 100 MP Hasselblad camera, 6K video and a gimbal that rotates a full 360 degrees. That means true vertical video for social and portrait deliverables, shot natively rather than cropped.

  • Cameras: 100 MP Hasselblad 4/3 main camera, 48 MP 70 mm and 50 MP 168 mm tele cameras.
  • Video: 6K at 60 fps and 4K at up to 120 fps, in 10-bit D-Log.
  • Longer lenses, consistent look: stronger tele cameras give a better match between wide and long shots.
  • Flight time: up to 51 minutes per battery, with 512GB of internal storage.

It's a great drone for events, boats and anything delivered in portrait. If you need ProRes for broadcast, we'll put the Mavic 3 Pro Cine up instead.

Small drone, serious crew

Our Mavics are flown single operator: one experienced pilot who flies and frames the shot, working with your director and DOP. It keeps the footprint small and the day moving.

Fast deployment

Flying within a minute of arriving, so you catch the light, the moment or the gap in the weather.

Long flight times and close contact

Up to 43 to 51 minutes per battery, and small enough to work close to the action and through tight gaps.

Photo to video, anywhere

Switch from stills to video in seconds. It packs into a carry-on, which makes it the perfect partner for travel shoots.

Drizzle, wind, tight interiors or a boat at full speed: when a bigger drone can't fly, the Mavic usually can. We push it to its limit.

Mavic or Inspire 3?

The Mavics are the right choice when speed, access and a small footprint matter most: events, property, boats, documentary, travel and fast-moving TV days.

Step up to the Inspire 3 when you need a full-frame 8K sensor, interchangeable lenses and a dual-operator crew. For full-size cinema cameras, we fly the Alta 8 and Alta X.

Not sure which you need? Tell us the shot and where it's going, and we'll advise the best drone for it.

For producers

Are you CAA authorised and insured? Yes. We hold a CAA Operational Authorisation and carry £5m drone public liability insurance. We handle the risk assessment and flight plan, can arrange landowner permissions, and share everything with your production before the shoot.

Do you handle location and airspace permissions? We can. On TV and film shoots the location team usually secures location permissions, and we work alongside them with our risk assessments and flight plans. Where there's no location team, we can arrange landowner and airspace permissions ourselves, for example near airports or in restricted airspace. We fly under a CAA Operational Authorisation (PDRA01), which allows us to work within 50 metres of people who aren't part of the shoot (30 metres for take-off and landing). For London, congested areas, or shots that need to get closer, we can fly under an Operating Safety Case (OSC) at additional cost.

Which Mavic should we book? The Mavic 3 Pro Cine if you need Apple ProRes for broadcast or the edit. The Mavic 4 Pro for 6K, 100 MP stills, vertical video and longer lens work. If you're not sure, tell us the deliverables and we'll advise.

How quickly can you be flying? Usually within a minute of reaching the take-off point, once the site has been checked.

Will you fly in rain or wind? We fly in light drizzle and stronger winds than most drones can handle, always within the aircraft's limits and our risk assessment.

How do we get the footage? On the day, straight from the drone's SSD to your drive or DIT, or by download link afterwards.

Can we hire a Mavic without a pilot? Yes, subject to approval of your insurance and qualifications. See our kit hire page.

Can you travel abroad with it? Yes. It packs into hand luggage, and we've filmed in more than 30 countries.

Tell us the shot

We'll tell you straight whether it's a Mavic, the Inspire 3 or a heavy lift drone, and what it'll cost.
