Ronin operator in Cornwall and the UK
Light Colour Sound supplies gimbal operators and gimbal hire from Newquay, Cornwall, across the UK and abroad. Tim Boydell operates the Ronin 2, Movi Pro, Ronin 4D and RS 4 Pro handheld, on a Ready Rig, by remote head, from a jib or from our tracking vehicles.
How we operate

Handheld or Ready Rig
Walking shots, stairs, tight interiors and long hours. Also from a Segway, and from moving vehicles when it’s safe and faster.
Remote head
Ronin 2 and Ronin 4D over DJI Transmission, with one or two high-bright monitors for the operator and DOP; Movi Pro over the Freefly system.
On a vehicle
The Ronin 2 rides on our Cine-Trike heavy rig, and the Ronin 4D on its light rig.
From a jib or the drone
We can run either from our 15ft Jimmy Jib, and the Alta 8’s Movi Pro can come off and run as a gimbal unit between flights.
Remote head
Operated from the vehicle
With DJI Transmission, the Ronin 2 runs as a remote head: on a tracking vehicle, a car rig or an arm, with the operator and DOP each on their own high-bright monitor.
Good to know
Can we hire the gimbal without an operator? Yes, every gimbal is available as dry hire. Unless your team already knows the system well, we'd always suggest one of our operators: an unfamiliar gimbal can cost time on set or fail at the wrong moment.
Which gimbal do I need? The Ronin 2 or Movi Pro for cinema bodies and heavy lenses, the Ronin 4D for a self-contained camera, and the RS 4 Pro for the FX6, FX3, Komodo and Ember.
Can you operate remotely? Yes. The Ronin 2 and Ronin 4D over DJI Transmission, and the Movi Pro over the Freefly system.
Where are you based? Newquay, Cornwall, working UK-wide and abroad.
