How We Operate

We have been approved by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) for aerial work. To gain this qualification we spent a great deal of time going through a rigorous UAS operations programme. We created our own safety orientated Operations Manual using the knowledge we’ve acquired, this has not only approved by both the CAA and EuroUSC, but has been highly commended.

In order for us to keep our BNUC-S Qualification we have to adhere to the processes in our Operations Manual.

What we will need from you..

Flight Location

An exact postcode or map reference for the site of the operation so that we can do a pre-site assessment (PSA) using our online resources.

Landowners Permission

We will need permission of the land owner. Knowing who to approach will make this process a lot quicker.

Operation Timing

Are you looking to shoot on a particular day, or over a given period. It helps to know this so we can plan around the weather.

Type of media required

Do you require video or still photographs? We can do both in one shoot, it just needs to be planned correclty.

Additional Services

We can help with other things too.. Light Colour Sound’s award winning film makers can offer a huge range of photography or film services.

Site survey and risk assessment

We will then have to visit the operation site to conduct a full assessment. In most circumstances this can be done on the day.

Once we have made sure the project is feasible and safe we will:

  • Carry out an on site survey (OSA) and risk assessment.
  • Check the airspace and NOTAMs to make sure that it is safe to work in the area.
  • Make sure the land-owner’s permission has been granted.
  • Carry out pre-flight checks (PreFC) on all our equipment.
  • Fly the operation as safely and as competently as possible.
  • Ensure we have shot the footage/photos you require.
  • Carry out post-flight checks (PostFC).
  • Ensure that the operations site is left tidy
